Dr Sathish Krishnan's specialities include:General Paediatrics | Paediatric cardiology | Paediatric echocardiography | Neonates 

Dr Sathish Krishnan is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician at Frimley Park Hospital, with over nine years of consultant-level practice with specialist interest in paediatric cardiology. He provides dedicated neonatal and paediatric echocardiography services, general paediatrics and has extensive expertise across neonatology, paediatric intensive care, and acute paediatric medicine. Dr Krishnan completed his paediatric training in the London/KSS deanery, obtaining his CCT in 2017.

He has more than 9 years of NHS consultant experience and almost 20 years of paediatric experience in managing common and specialist paediatric conditions including: 

Cardiac-Heart conditions, for example:–

Investigations for murmur with ECG, echocardiography (heart scan) to investigate for  congenital and acquired heart conditions
Investigations for palpitations with ECG, blood tests, echocardiography (heart scan), ambulatory ECG
Diagnose Vasovagal syncope/POTS by excluding other conditions with investigations, lying/standing BP, ECG, bloods, echocardiography, referral to tilt test (as  necessary) and management
Investigations for familial heart conditions- cardiomyopathy etc
Investigations for cardiac associations for connective tissue disorder (eg Marfan’s syndrome)

Infant conditions-Reflux, infantile colic, milk intolerance, food allergy, eczema, faltering growth, irregular head shape, FPIE (food protein induced enterocolitis) etc

Respiratory-Management of childhood asthma, chronic cough, recurrent chest infections, hay fever,  and allergy

Development: General development assessment and investigations for delayed development.

Neurological conditions including seizures (fits), headache, funny turns, tics with detailed examination, observations including BP, MRI head (as necessary)

Skin- Eczema, Urticaria and rashes

Bladder- Bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis), urgency (urge incontinence)

Bowel- chronic constipation, chronic diarrhoea, chronic abdominal pain, vomiting, ulcer, coeliac disease

Kidney- Repeated urine infections, antenatal kidney dilatation and other congenital kidney conditions, blood in the urine (haematuria)

Musculoskeletal- Joint pain, arthritis, hypermobility etc

Endocrine- Thyroid, short stature, obesity

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Krishnan is actively involved in service development, quality improvement, research and medical education. He is currently a Foundation Year 1 Training Programme Director, leading and mentoring resident doctors. He leads level 2 neonatal unit in Frimley Park Hospital and plays a key role in advancing neonatal care standards. He is actively involved in neonatal research as principal investigator for a neonatal randomised control trial.
